Anime seasons are always something to look forward to. You get a number of new anime as well as sequels to some of the old ones, but rarely do we have an anime season as saturated as Summer 2021. There is an astounding amount of news shows, and they are all really good in their own rights. Well then, let’s talk about a few of them and see which one of the following non-sequels you guys love the most.
Here we have a main character who can’t help but be the center of any and all kinds of trouble, but as fate would have it, this also leads to him going around the world with a beautiful silver haired detective girl, and on these adventures, the duo experiences all sorts of stuff, helps solve all sorts of cases, and genuinely have the time of their lives. However, that is until an unforeseen tragedy takes place and things change.
The idea of going back to the past and reliving your life is something that we see quite often in anime and manga, and this happens to be one of them. Except this time, instead of the usual high school setting, the story is taking place in a college. A man named Hashiba Kyouya made some regrettable decisions in life, but if given the opportunity to remake those decisions, will he be able to change his life and do the things he really wanted to do?
Life isn’t just smooth sailing, there are always unfair circumstances that can lead to a downward spiral; be it a dream falling apart or depression taking over. But maybe its in these unfair circumstances that we find the things that matter the most. Such is the story of Kukuru Misakino, an 18-year-old girl, who lost her lifelong dream of becoming an idol and escaped to the countryside. But found something new, a new dream to latch onto!
Everyone loves the happy going gymnastics coach of the popular children’s educational program, “Together with Mama.” But little do they know about the coach’s not so happy life. What lies beneath the smiles and the laughs is the face of an emotional unstable adult, and his everyday struggles.
Madhouse is a renowned studio but there hasn’t been much activity from them lately. However, this season introduced us to a new Madhouse anime original, and the story has taken everyone by surprise. One day, a school as well as its students just suddenly end up in a different world where there is darkness everywhere and some of them have gained supernatural abilities. But that’s not all there is to it, what really happened is that the students are now in an array of different worlds with each world having its own quirks, and the challenges that follow. While the concept is quite good, it’s the humanizing element of each episode that makes this anime such a fun watch.
An anime season is certainly incomplete without a peculiar Romcom and here we have just that. A boy named Naoya Mukai is someone who had to wait years before he could finally confess and date his childhood friend, but then suddenly, another girl enters the chat and Naoya decides to come out straight and ask the two of them if they can both be his girlfriends? Hence the title. This is indeed a very interesting development.
The story follows a Vampire Vanitas who was hated by his own kind and was truly alone. He created the book of Vaniatas as a cursed grimoire that’ll eventually make the Vampires pay. Or at least that’s how the story goes… Vanitas no Karte is another gem that is slowly shaping up to be something genuinely remarkable. The manga is written the author of “Pandora hearts,” and considering how the second season of this anime is already announced, great things await those who are thinking about getting into this anime.
